Tommy Hilfiger is an American fashion company founded in 1984 by the fashion designer of Irish-American origins Thomas Jacob “Tommy” Hilfiger. He had no special professional background for fashion designer career. His parents forced him to study engineering, but he abandoned the studies and started to work in clothing retail network. Later, he opened his own fashion store called The People’s Place. However, the enterprise failed, because it was mostly not a commercial entity but a place for permanent parities, just a place where people met and spend their time. The new enterprise called Tommy Hilfiger Corporation was founded in 1984 with the help of The Murjani Group. In 1992 designer presented his first signature collection.
