Blumarine is the main brand of Italian fashion house Blufin S.p.A. Founded in 1977 by the designer Anna Molinari and her husband Gianpaolo Tarabini. At the beginning the label specialized in knitwear, a selection which still remains in its collections in the form of girls’ sweaters.

Anna Molinari says that the name of the label was inspired by the fact, that the couple loved the sea and its amazing color. The fashion brand’s first appearance was made during Milan fashion week of the 1980 year. The enlargement of the range and creation of new lines of the fashion house took place thanks to Italian designer MOSCHINO. Nowadays all the collections of the fashion house have that special spirit that Anna Molinari gave to her first complete collections, the spirit of edgy romantism. Renown designer creats sexy womenswear preserving the rule she established for the brand from the very beginning, and described by the fashion journalist Laura Craik as “the brand of Italian miss for whom no dress is too small nor any diamond too big”. Blumarine dresses are short and sparkling, they are the symbols of sex appeal.

Today Blufin S.p.A. has Blumarine (core brand), Miss Blumarine (a line for 8-14 year old girls), Blugirl ( for teenagers) and Anna Molinari (luxury brand) labels. The company produces, markets and distributes not only clothing, but also, accessories, lingerie, and perfumes.

The revenue of the company in 2006 was €102.4 millions.
