Giorgio Armani is one of the most successful Italian fashion designers. He started his designer career in mid-1960s in Nino Cerrutti company where he designed menswear. For many years Armani designed menswear for different brands, such as Allegri, Bagutta, Hilton, Montedoro, Tendresse etc. Only in 1975, with a friend Sergio Galeotti he founded his own company. The company was called Giorgio Armani Spa. In October of that year he presented his first men’s and women’s ready-to-wear Spring-Summer 1976 collections under his own name.
Today Giorgio Armani S.P.A. is an international Italian fashion house producing, distributing, and retailing haute couture, ready-to-wear mens and womenswear. The company produces all clothing attributes starting from socks to luxury fur coats and watches. As well, the company designs and manufactures home interiors. The brand sells these products under several sub-labels including Giorgio Armani, Armani Collezioni, Emporio Armani, AJ | Armani Jeans, AX | Armani Exchange, Armani Junior, and Armani/Casa. Along with expensive luxury lines Armani produces so called affordable luxury products. The most accessible Giorgio Armani line is Armani Exchange. Its quality is the same as, for example, Emporio Armani, but the style is less refined. I would say it is more casual.
The most well-known sub-label of the company is Emporio Armani line. It is renowned for its clean, tailored lines, and luxury fabrics. One of the strongest areas of Giorgio Armani is menswear. The most high-end ready-to-wear mens clothing belong to Emporio Armani line.
